How to make a cute heart-shaped butterfly!
You will need:
-Colored construction paper
-Black construction paper
-Scissors
-Paper cutter (optional)
-Pencil
-Glue stick
-Ruler
Estimated time: 1 hour
Makes: 6 butterflies per sheet of paper
Instructions:
1. Cut the sheet of paper lengthwise into two strips that are 3 3/4 inches in width. There will be a small strip left over, which isn’t going to be used for anything unless for Step 4 if desired.

2. Fold the corner of one of the strips so the corner touches the side, forming a triangle. Cut it off.

3. Draw half of a heart shape on the triangle, with the points on the crease. Cut the shape out.

4. Decorate the outside of the heart however you want. These will be the “wings”. I used a handy-dandy heart-shaped punch that I had, but that is not necessary. This is how I decorated mine.

5. Cut the black construction paper into thin strips. Cut those into short thin strips, unless extra curly antennae is desired. Wind an end around a pencil, or another thin cylindrical object, or just curl the end by hand. Leave about half of the strip uncurled. Mine were about 1 inch in length. Create two.

6. On the inside of the heart, glue the antennae to the top, on either side of the crease, with the curls facing outward.

7. Repeat Steps 2-6 for remaining 5 butterflies!
8. Now you are done and can create a whole army of these for Valentine’s Day and/or write notes in them to pass out. Enjoy your fluttery creations!
